with whom can you a p p l y - Any physically published character, meaning someone with a canon you can hold in your hot little hands. You may app from a web comic WITHIN REASON (as long as it is not your own and has sufficient canon; further questions may be directed to the mods). Also, no original characters. Ever. If you created it, you can't app it. - Authors and companies on this list have requested that their works not be used for fandom purposes, so characters from their series cannot be played here. Feel free to blame Anne Rice. If permission is obtained from the authors and/or companies, then party on. - Published fictional parody work addressing world topics such as nationality, historical figures or religion (such as Axis Powers Hetalia or Saint Young Men) is absolutely a legit part of the fictional pool! The regular rules apply for considering the canon and character; characters must be played as they are written in their canons, and information for the character must be taken from their specific published source. CFUD is a panfandom roleplay for fictional characters of all kinds! Just keep in mind it isn't quite the correct venue for writing extensive, active parody, since that gets into original permutations of a character. And no nonfiction, folks! - Canon AUs are allowed so long as the AU characters differ enough from their counterparts. If it is a different canon and the character has their own individual back story separate from their counterpart, it is fair game. Think Tsubasa vs. other CLAMP series. If you are considering applying for a version of a character that is already in camp, we suggest that you give that player a heads up in advance! If you are uncertain about whether or not a character is appable, please contact the mods (cfudmods at gmail.com). - We ♥ guys, girls, and wraththruthingies. All genders and sexuality are welcomed with open arms and legs. Anything goes! - We separate characters into camper and counselor groups. Anyone aged or appearing to be aged twenty-one or under is a camper. Anyone older than that is a counselor. The only difference application-wise is that a job is required on a counselor application. Be creative! Counselors will frequently be harrassed into doing their jobs. Their lives are hard, they aren't getting paid, etc. Campers, feel free to make their lives miserable. The camper and counselor rounds used to be separate, with counselors only applicable certain times of the year. However, as of May 2011, application rounds are now open to campers and counselors. You may only apply for one or the other during the application period. - "Younger versions" of adults (read: no young!Sirius Black, or "flashback" ages) are not allowed unless there is substantial canon for them. If you're iffy on it, ask the mods. - Want to apply for someone that's lived for centuries, but looks and acts like a child as a camper? Go for it! WHO DOESN'T LOVE AGE-DEFYING DEMONS. If your character appears to be in their mid-twenties, but is only physically five years due to the magical nature of their canon, then they are still considered to be a counselor. On the other hand, if your character is an eighty-five year old demon who appears to be eight — such as the above! — then they are a camper. If your character falls into this gray area and you are not certain which one they would be, go for whichever one you believe suits them the best. - All applications posted for voting have been approved for the game by the moderators and they are appable.
